Styria plans to acquire a majority stake in ETM

Styria Medien AG is going to increase their stake in ET Multimedia AG

Styria Medien AG aims at taking over a majority of ET Multimedia AG, the second largest Austrian magazine publishing group, which also holds a 50%-stake in Wirtschaftsblatt. The final agreements with the sellers (UIAG, Imperial Gruppe, Deutsche Beteiligungs AG) should be signed shortly. Through this acquisition and an increase of capital in ETM, signed exclusively from Styria Medien AG, SAG is going to hold an over 80% share in the ETM group. Styria will also take over the operative management of the company group.

With the engagement of Styria Medien AG, business development of ETM can be secured and further strengthened. Thereby, additional chances will open up for ETM on the continually competitive Austrian media market. With this acquisition, Styria Medien AG forcefully sets its growth course also on the Austrian media market. So far, the inclusion of the daily newspaper “Die Presse” into ETM, which has been approved by the cartel court, has not yet taken place.
