Organization and responsibilities for the new Styria Digital team specified

Styria Digital starts with a new structure and a strong management team into the new digital era of Styria.

After the passing of the digital umbrella strategy, the tasks of Styria Digital were formalized in an organizational and personnel structure. For the implementation of the ambitious goals, a unit has been created, which is responsible for the development and expansion of digital business. The management of this company during the initial phase assumes Wolfgang Bretschko, spokesman of the board of Styria Media Group, who thus also lends more attention to the digital field. In parallel, Styria is looking for a digital manager with leadership experience, who can produce success in the development of digital business area.

Operational, Wolfgang Bretschko can count on a strong management team of four, which was already responsible for the development of the strategy: Helmut Bračun leads the area "transaction-oriented business areas" and receives the overall responsibility for classifieds portals as well as additional market places. Alexis Johann assumes the area "content & community services" and will devote himself to the expansion of the core business contents. Until June 2012, also the future management responsibility of the Austrian news portals shall thereby be clarified. Christian Buchsteiner will advance the further development of new business areas through acquisitions and start-ups on the fast growing and dynamic digital market. Michael Berger takes responsibility for the area "digital services", the development of group-wide digital topics such as traffic management, group sales, mobile, moving image and in addition promotes the further development of platforms and technologies.

Wolfgang Bretschko, "With the development of an organization and a clear distribution of tasks, we created the framework conditions to reach our highly ambitious goals in the digital business until 2015. Now, it is crucial to bring the PS as quickly as possible to the street and become operative. Thus, we are already working at high pressure to transport the classical brochure business into the digital world and to expand our classifieds activities to new business areas."
