Styria Digital Holding GmbH takes over Styria Tourismusportale GmbH
‘Styria Digital Holding GmbH’ takes over the 49 % of ‘Styria Tourismusportale GmbH’ owned to date by external joint venture partners. The objective is merging the ‘sportaktiv.com’ portal with the leading print magazine ‘SPORTaktiv’ (published by toptimes Medien GmbH) in order to lay the foundations for an umbrella brand going forward.  [ further ]

New managing director for "Die Presse" and "WirtschaftsBlatt" and new publisher for "Die Presse"
The Board of Styria Media Group AG announces a change in the company management of the daily newspapers "Die Presse" and "WirtschaftsBlatt": Dr. Rudolf Schwarz will take over the company management together with Mag. Herwig Langanger from 1 October 2014. The managing director up to now, Dr. Michael Tillian, is leaving the company at his own request and is joining an Austrian technology and media venture as a managing partner. In addition to his position as editor-in-chief, Rainer Nowak will also take over the position of the "Presse" publisher. [ further ]

Styria launches football portal in Croatia and Bosnia
Just before the World Cup in Brazil, the Styria Media Group has launched the Croatian and Bosnian versions of the world's most popular football portal goal.com.  [ further ]

Styria withdraws from Slovenian free media market
Due to the lasting, difficult, macroeconomic environment in Slovenia, Styria Media Group AG finds itself forced to discontinue its free media žurnal, žurnal24 as well as zurnal24.si. A redundancy programme will be prepared for the affected employees. Continued strong presence of Styria in Slovenia is guaranteed by the digital market leaders bolha.com (marketplace), MojeDelo.com (job portal) as well as the investment in the daily newspaper group Dnevnik.  [ further ]

Styria Media Center Graz is now fully grown
The structural works are completed: After a year of construction time, on Thursday the Styria Media Group AG executive board thanked project partners and a good 110 workers at the topping-out ceremony in the future newsroom. The new home to media operations remains within the planned budget and timeframe. The keys to the 60-metre-tall building are due to be handed over in December 2014.  [ further ]
